The Housing Finance Division offers Home Buyer Purchase Assistance to qualified home buyers. Assistance is in the form of a deferred payment second mortgage at 0% interest, 15-year term. Funds are available on a first-come, first qualified, first served basis. Assistance may be used for closing costs, down payment, loan and rate reductions, etc.

Down payment assistance programs and/or grants were researched by the team at FHA.com. Please note that all programs listed on this website may involve a second mortgage with payments that are forgiven, deferred, or subsidized in some manner until resale of the mortgaged property. Typically, first time home buyers must put at least 5% down. You may be able to get away with putting as little as 3% down. Especially if you accept certain mortgage insurance programs. Individual Development Account (I.D.A.) Program
With their Home Ownership Program, the Housing Finance Authority of Manatee County offers homebuyers down payment assistance. In addition to a first mortgage, the program gives borrowers the chance to cover the down payment and/or closing costs as well. The FHA 203 loan is an option that you can take advantage of if you’d like to purchase a home and make some home repairs or upgrades at the same time. The FHA 203 loan, also known as a Streamline Refinance. And its allows current homeowners who have an existing mortgage on their property to refinance into another FHA-insured mortgage with better rates and lower monthly payments.

In addition to contributing 1 percent of the down payment from their own funds, all borrowers must pay a $750 transaction fee to the Housing Finance Authority of Broward County. To maximize qualify for financial assistance with closing costs and down payment funds up to $2,000 for qualified first time homebuyers. The Commission provides financial assistance grants to community organizations that pre-screen. These community partners are responsible for administering the grant funds.
